Auch der deutsche PC-Markt leidet unter der Nachfrage-Flaute: Laut Gartner wurden im dritten Quartal 2012 hierzulande rund 19 Prozent weniger Desktop-PCs und Notebooks verkauft. Für den Absatzschwund nannte Principal Analyst Meike Escherich ähnliche Ursachen wie sie auch für die weltweite und europäische Flaute genannt wurden: Die allgemeine wirtschaftliche Situation, der Wettbewerbsdruck von Tablets sowie das Warten auf Windows 8. Im Vorfeld des neuen Betriebssystems hätten Händler weniger neue Geräte nachbestellt.

Insgesamt wurden von Juli bis September in Deutschland rund 2,7 Millionen Computer verkauft, zirka 600.000 weniger als im dritten Quartal 2011. Die von Gartner "Media Tablets" genannten Mobilgeräte mit iOS oder Android bleiben dabei außen vor; Windows-8-Tablets will Gartner hingegen künftig wohl als PCs zählen. Der Rückgang war bei Consumer-PCs für Privatleute (–20 Prozent) etwas stärker als bei Bürocomputern und Business-Notebooks (–18 Prozent), Mobilrechner (–14 Prozent) waren etwas stärker betroffen als Desktop-PCs (–13 Prozent).

Besonders stark getroffen hat die Absatzflaute Asus (–38 Prozent) und HP (–29 Prozent). Lenovo konnte seine Stückzahlen annähernd halten und bleibt damit Marktführer, Acer zog dank geringerer Schrumpfung als HP am ehemaligen zweiten vorbei. Hinter HP folgen mit deutlichm Abstand Dell (7,7 Prozent Marktanteil) und Asus (7,3 Prozent Marktanteil), kleinere Marken liefern hierzulande fast 42 Prozent aller Computer.

Gartner äußert sich auch in Bezug auf die weitere Marktentwicklung eher skeptisch. Mit Windows 8 seien zwar interessante neue Geräte erschienen, aber "die Reaktionen von Käufern und Einzelhändlern auf diese einzigartigen Gerätetypen war bisher ziemlich konservativ", so Escherich. Ganz allgemein sei es schwierig, die Kauflust der Kunden für Windows-8-Rechner anzustacheln, so ihr Kollege Ranjit Atwal, der Zahlen für Großbritannien vorstellte. Die Frage sei, ob es die Hersteller schafften, ihre jeweiligen Produkte richtig zu positionieren und die passenden Preise zu finden. Vermutlich ist das eine Kritik an den aktuell hohen Preisen vieler Hybrid-PCs und Windows-8-Tablets.

Viel positiver sieht das European Information Technology Observatory (EITO) von Bitkom Research den PC-Markt. Am 25. Oktober hatte der Bitkom eine Prognose veröffentlicht, wonach der deutsche PC-Markt in diesem Jahr um 7,3 Prozent auf 16,5 Millionen Geräte wachsen soll. Darin sind 3,2 Millionen Tablets enthalten, doch auch bei den Desktop-PCs erwartet EITO ein Plus von 2,6 Prozent auf 5,4 Millionen Geräte. Die Tablets räubern demnach nur bei den Notebooks, hier geht es angeblich um 1,4 Prozent abwärts auf 7,9 Millionen Geräte. Auch wenn die EITO-Prognose für das Gesamtjahr gilt und Gartner nur das dritte Quartal betrachtet hat, ist ein Widerspruch erkennbar – zwar hatte Gartner für das erste Quartal Wachstum gemeldet, aber schon im zweiten Quartal deutlichen Rückgang. EITO kooperiert bei der Prognose allerdings mit IDC und der GfK; IDC hatte auch im zweiten Quartal für Europa noch deutliches Wachstum ermittelt. (ciw)
