Nachdem vor knapp einer Woche der Kanal der Kindersendung Sesamstraße auf YouTube gehackt wurde, ist nun der Microsoft-Kanal das Ziel.

Wie die Sicherheitsexperten von Sophos melden, haben Unbekannte die Kontrolle über den Kanal von Microsoft bei YouTube übernommen, die dortigen Videos gelöscht und damit begonnen, eigene Videos hochzuladen. Dabei wurden aber bisher im Gegensatz zum Sesamstraßen-Hack keine pornografischen Videos verwendet.

Obwohl es noch keine Details darüber gibt, wie es den Hackern gelungen ist, den Kanal zu übernehmen, gibt es natürlich Spekulationen, ein Microsoft-Mitarbeiter hätte auf sein Passwort nicht ausreichend aufgepasst. Ein Kommentar im Microsoft-Kanal deutet allerdings auf eine ganz andere Möglichkeit hin. So habe ein Nutzer bereits im Jahr 2006 das Konto »Microsoft« erstellt und YouTube habe dann auf Anfrage die Kontrolle darüber an den echten Microsoft-Konzern übergeben. Dabei hätten YouTube oder Microsoft vergessen, die E-Mail-Adresse des ursprünglichen Erstellers zu entfernen, so dass dieser nun darüber die Möglichkeit gehabt hätte, erneut die Kontrolle über das Konto zu erlangen.

Falls das wahr ist, so Sophos, sei dies ein großes YouTube-Problem, das auch noch viele andere große Marken betreffen könne. Inzwischen hat YouTube damit begonnen, den Microsoft-Kanal wieder herzustellen.
